lazy days

Well, its my weekend off and Mother Nature has graced PA with some fabulous 30 degree weather! Last friday it was about 70 and now its 30....makes sense huh?! It is officially spring and i'm really ready for the weather to join us!

Anyways....I am a consultant for a direct selling company called Thirty One Gifts. Its purses, organizational home items, wallets, baby items and more. I love it. I want everything in the catalog. Every other month we have meetings with girls from around the area. They are nice and informative and the Home Office is so wonderful that they give all of the ladies who attend a FREE product! Who doesn't love free stuff?! The product this month was the All-in-One organizer, i've been wanting to get one I just haven't had a chance and now I have one! I was so excited, especially since it is the customer special for next month! Now I have something to show the ladies! Anyways, I had a party this afternoon and that went really well, plus i'm able to get one of the purses that I really wanted! I currently have a full time job so for now 31 is just for some extra spending money or money to pay extra on our credit cards or the car payment!

Also, i've been horrible at my picture project. I haven't taken any pictures... I'm really gonna start trying but for now,  I found an old favorite that i'm going to use. Its of my son when he was only about 2 months old! How I miss those days.

This is my son Trent. He was about 2-3 months old in this picture. This should have been a clue to his personality because he is a child that is full of energy, spunk, and independence. He is now 2 1/2 and I get told several times a day, "I can do it Mama".  He is crazy, daring, sweet, loving and everything inbetween and I would not change it for the world! I love you Trent Matthew <3

DIY site and awesome giveaway!

I've been following this great DIY site for awhile now and I must say....her DIYs are AMAZING. I have yet to try anything because I can not find the time but one day I will. Until then, I will live vicariously through her DIYs and keep my eye out for things that I love but are too big or can be used to transform something boring into something great! Anyways....her site has partnered up with one of her sponsors to take part in a giveaway that she is doing. She will be giving away an illustration from her shop worth $25 or less. Go to Sarah's Site to check out how to enter and while you there, check out her DIY projects!

Gettysburg

Yesterday, my husband, son and my husbands parents and sister took a day trip to Gettysburg. My in-laws have been there several times and my husband was there when he was younger but I have never been there. I've lived in Pennsylvania my whole life, right out side of Philadelphia, but I have never seen some of the important/historical sites around here. Yesterday morning around 6:30, we met up with my in-laws and hit the road for Gettysburg. It took us about 2.5-3 hours but we finally made it. We stopped to grab a map and were on our way to the battlefield. Even though that it now looks like empty fields with a few houses scattered here and there, it is really moving and inspiring knowing what an important piece of United States History happened there. Being at these locations that famous Generals were killed or where certain events happened during those 3 days was kind of surreal. Walking on the grounds that were used as a battlefield, 148 years ago,  for one of the most important battles in american history was amazing. My 2 1/2 year old went with us and I hope to take him back one day when he will be able to appreciate what kind of even took place there. While there we also visited Gettysburg National Cemetary, which is one of my pictures for my 365 project.  Being at such a place yesterday and taking tons of pictures, I couldn't pick just one for my day 2 picture....so I picked two!

This was the memorial to the men from Pennsylvania who fought at Gettysburg. All around the memorial were plaques that held the names of all of the men who were there. There were also steps inside so that you could go up to to the top and look around. It was a great view.

This was in Gettysburg National Cemetary. The little white spots mark graves that soldiers are buried in, they are marked with a number. There are over 6,000 soldiers buried throughout the area from the Mexican-American War to present day. 3,512 of these are Union Soldiers with 979 never being identified

Pennsylvania is full of history and I hope to be able to get to see more of it this coming summer!

Hello Blog World!

Well....i've been wanting to try my hand at blogging for a while now and I figured this lazy saturday would be the time to start!! I tried blogging once before but it was right around the holidays and I was waaaayyyyy too busy. Now its March...not much is happening so....WHY NOT?! Soo....I'm Tiara, nice to meet you! I'm not quite sure what this blog will be able yet but it will have to deal with my picture project and other ideas I have in my head. I live in a small town outside of Philly and everything I need is within walking distance, even though I rarely walk anywhere! I have a crazy 2 1/2 year old who has absolutely NO fear. He loves animals, cars, movies, our cat Moe, and driving his power wheels! I am married...just celebrated out 4 year anniversary on St. Patty's Day! My husband did 4 years in the USMC and is now in the Air National Guard and will be starting school in the winter or spring.

With this blog i'm hoping to finally start to try some ideas i've had for awhile.

1. Picture 365-I love taking pictures and this will challenge me to come up with a new thing everyday! I plan on taking a new picture everyday to try to work on my photography skills! It may not be uploaded the same day but I will be sure to have 365 photos on this day next year!

2. Sewing/Projects-I love sewing, I just need the time to do it! I would like to work on my sewing skills and possibly be able to make some money off of it as well! I'm thinking bibs, burp cloths, blankets and such! Hopefully, items that can be given as gift sets!

For now that is all I have so we'll see where that takes me. One other thing that I will post about soon is a diaper cake. My sister-in-law is having a baby in early June and every new mom needs DIAPERS! I've never seen a diaper cake at a shower before so i'm thinking that is what I'm going to give her.  That is also where the bibs/burp clothes come in! I can't take the diaper cake plain so just like a real cake it needs color and decoration! Bibs, burp cloths, rattles and other little baby toys will be included! Looking forward to starting that project as well!

Sorry for rambling, I got a little excited...hopefully you'll stick around to see my ups and downs when it comes to projects, I promise I'll keep it exciting!

Until next time......Tiara!
